The theme of Jessica and Brian’s wedding was “Honor the Past, Cherish the Present, Welcome the Future” and it was absolutely BURSTING at the seams with authentic and thoughtful details! The gang started the day at Hotel DuPont with hair & makeup by Salon Chloe. New Pace Wedding Films and Nicole Leigh Photography were on-hand to capture the preparations and the entire day as it unfolded. Once everyone was dressed and ready, we had the sweetest first look and couple’s session at Brantwyn Estate, then did wedding party and family pics onsite at DuPont Country Club. As guests arrived to the ceremony at the club, they were greeted by the couple’s doggies, Frankie and Nana, who were totally dressed to impressed! A Garden Party florists created the most perfect ceremony area, including a beautiful “Ring Warming” tree which guests were invited to visit to bless the bride and groom’s rings before the ceremony started. Inside the Christiana Room, they created the prettiest ceremony area which included the bride’s grandmother’s antique chandelier! The aisle was adorned with greenery, florals, and candles, and arrangements which looked perfect beside the elegant Wilmington String Ensemble. When it was time to tie the knot, Weddings by Andrew conducted a heartfelt ceremony and afterwards, the bride and groom snuck-off to smooch by the perfect getaway car from First Class Rolls Royce Antique Car Rentals. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails named for the 2 pups, with yummy hors d’oeuvres in the Wedgewood Room. Inside the Crystal Ballroom, A Garden Party floored us with their incredible designs, yet again! The chalkart seating chart they created of the couple’s “Favorite Things” was a perfect complement to the vintage china table names they painted to match. AGP also moved the ceremony chandelier to hang behind the sweetheart table, which was embellished with vintage china and pink depression-glass goblets, creating the prettiest backdrop for the newlyweds. The main focal point for the reception was an incredible display featuring the gowns of the couple’s mothers and the bride’s grandmom! Personal effects and photos rested on tables beside each gown and A Garden Party decked out the fireplace mantel area with lush greenery, gorgeous florals, and tons of candlelight! The balcony was swagged with stringlights and draped fabric and the dancefloor was glowing thanks to Philly Wedding Lighting, plus we had a fun setup for guests to enjoy from The Wilmington Photo Booth Company, too! The reception was absolutely KICKIN’ thanks to the guys from Crescendo DJ and Drums– from start to finish, the dancefloor was packed and the flow of the party was absolute perfection! There were tons of special details, too- like the anniversary cards guests signed that the couple will open in future years, and the custom art canvas everyone signed that will hang in their home, not to mention the dozens of framed photos and special signs that decorated every surface. The bride and groom chose an incredibly intricate cake, courtesy of The Master’s Baker, that featured the bride’s grandparent’s vintage wedding topper! But, that’s not all- it was the Parents of the Bride’s 40th wedding anniversary, so the couple surprised them with a replica wedding cake from their own wedding and The Master’s Baker totally nailed the design perfectly! Before the shuttles from Limo Today took the guests back to the hotel, they were spoiled with an awesome take home favor: Grotto’s Pizza and beer brewed by Green Shirts Brewery, owned by a family friend! Erin, Zack and Stephanie from Proud to Plan had a BLAST bringing this wedding to life and we’re so thrilled to know this special couple got the wedding day of their dreams! Congratulations, Jessica and Brian!!! xo

I couldn’t agree more! Erin, Zach and Steph, you quite literally made my dreams come true and you should be incredibly proud of yourselves for that. I will be forever grateful to you for being such a big part of the BEST day of mine and Brian’s lives. I keep telling people that hiring Proud to Plan was one of the best decisions I made during the wedding planning process, second only to deciding to marry Brian 😉 The new (and extremely happy) Mr. and Mrs. Wardell send much love and aloha from Hawaii!!!
