One of the groom’s highlights of the days leading up to his wedding is the bachelor party. This is a chance for the groom to get together with his groomsmen and friends for a night of celebration before getting married. Although normally planned by the best man, it is important to keep in mind the groom’s interests (and not just what the groomsmen want to do). Also, try to plan this night a few weeks before the big day as there will be tons of last minute details for the bride and groom to be working on. Below are some fun suggestions for your bachelor party.
Sporting Events
We are lucky enough to be surrounded by some great sports teams- Phillies, Flyers, Eagles, Sixers, Union- no matter which sport you prefer, there is a team to watch. Start your night with tailgating or hanging out at XFINITY Live. Depending on the time of year, there are group ticket options or you could rent one of the group suites. If you are able to get a suite, this gives your group the chance to all be together while enjoying the game (and usually includes food and drinks!).
Atlantic City
Atlantic City offers some great options for a night out. First, start off with dinner at one of the many restaurants located throughout the area. If gambling is your thing, there are several casinos to choose from. You could check out a comedy show at the Borgata, head to Ri Ra at the Tropicana for some live music, or head to The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s for a night of high energy music and dancing. What’s great about Atlantic City is that there is something for everyone. There are several hotels in the area or you could look into renting a house. This can be much cheaper for a large group, especially if you are there in the off-season.
Outdoors
Here are some unique ideas for the groom who is looking for something outdoors. Take your group of friends on a white water rafting trip and then spend the night camping. This is an intense excursion that you won’t soon forget! If your groom like to get a little competitive, why not try paintball? If you are looking for a more relaxing day out, why not spend the day playing golf and then relaxing with a BBQ.
Take a Trip
There is always the exciting option of taking a trip. However, you should keep the cost in mind and make sure everyone is comfortable spending the extra money. You could head to Las Vegas for a classic bachelor party adventure (although try not to recreate “The Hangover”). If you are looking for a break from the cold, head down to Miami for a weekend at the beach. Or depending on the time of year, head to Colorado for a weekend of skiing. If your friends are scattered throughout the country, this might be the best option to get everyone together. Take a look at different locations and plan ahead to try and get the best deals.
No matter what you decide to do, the important part is that the groom gets to spend quality time with his closest friends. Relax and enjoy yourself!
